Yet more fire

The winds have returned, and so have the fires.
So far, I am only hearing of one fire burning (as opposed to the 23 or so that were burning in October.) Again, it is in Malibu. Whenever we have fires, Malibu seems always to be involved.
I don't even know what to say about this. Even if it isn't arson, most of these fires are not natural; they are caused by the presence of human beings. (a car misfiring; a cigarette thoughtlessly tossed out of a car window.) So far (3 1/2 hours after start) 2000 acres have burned and 35 homes have been lost.
Right now they are interviewing someone who just lost his home; he stated that he lost a home in 1999 also in the same area. It must be some spectacular place to live to want to continue to rebuild.
A note to my sister - This is why you were cited for throwing a cigarette out your car window. You are lucky; 8 hours community service (trash pick) up is nothing. Just imagine if you had started a fire!

I grew up in LA, and I don't ever remember SantaAna winds in November! I guess it's really dry again too. Was it 2 years ago there were all those big floods?
